Best Places To Eat In Tracy

Before I start listing restaurants I wanted to say I realize that ranking the best places to eat in Tracy is purely subjective. My tastes are going to be different from yours and we will never agree on the best places to eat in Tracy. But after living in Tracy for over 18 years and really enjoying food, hopefully I can make a few suggestions of places to try. And if you disagree, let me know in the comments. Maybe there's somewhere I need to try! P.S.  I am intentionally staying away from chain restaurants in this blog. Nothing against them, but I want to highlight places that are unique to Tracy.

  • Best Coffee Shop - Baristas gets my nod. They manage to have great espresso and coffee while avoiding the coffee snob attitude you can get in the Bay Area. If you just want great espresso or coffee, they have it. But if you like your drink with a little (or a lot) more sugar they offer a wide range of syrups and sauces that allow you to customize your drink. Plus they have great paninis, pastries and more.
  • Best Taqueria -  This is hard to pick as Tracy has many great taquerias and you can almost always make me happy with a burrito, but my go to place tends to be Taqueria Carolina No. 2
  • Best Indian Food - Dhaba Indian Cuisine - Try their quick lunch or dine-in, either way the food is delicious and if it is your first visit, it will not be your last!
  • Best Burger - In a city that has In-N-Out, Red Robin, Five Guys, Nations and Squeeze Inn, getting a good burger is easy. But if you want to avoid the chains, look no further than Johnny's Diner and Creamery. Great burgers, carne asada fries, and amazing ice cream sundaes with a 50's vibe you just can't go wrong here.
  • Best Sushi - Kengo Sushi - The sushi is fresh and delicious on it's own, but their sauces they put on top of many of their rolls really make them shine. Grab your chopsticks and a friend and go try Kengo!
  • Best Thai Food - Thai Cafe - If you speak with any local who has ever been to Thai Cafe, all you need to say is salad Khai and their mouth will start watering! Plus they have the best fried rice I have ever found anywhere.
  • Best Chinese Food - Amazing Kitchen To be fair, I have only eaten here once and it was just a few days ago but after ordering way too much food for my family of four and not finding anything I didn't like, Amazing Kitchen quickly became my favorite Chinese restaurant in Tracy. Noodles, fried rice, crab puffs, pot stickers, Special Chicken, Schezwan Beef it was all perfectly cooked and delicious.
What do you think? What places have I missed?
